About Traveloh
Traveloh compares package-holiday hotels for families travelling from the UK. We sell nothing, take no bookings and show no prices. What we do is gather the factual detail that actually decides a family holiday, put it on one page per hotel, make it filterable, and link out to the tour operators that feature that hotel.
Why the site exists
Every UK tour operator publishes its own hotels, in its own format, with its own idea of what a family needs to know. None of them lets you set them side by side, and none of them lets you filter on the things that decide the holiday: whether the water slides suit a four-year-old or a fourteen-year-old, whether there is a separate kids’ pool, whether the indoor pool exists for a shoulder-season trip, how far the airport really is.
That comparison did not exist, so we built it. One page per hotel, the detail gathered in one place, filters that work on that detail, and a route out to the operators that sell it.
Where the information comes from
We hold facts rather than marketing copy, and every figure on the site traces back to something published:
- hotel descriptions, photographs, facilities and star ratings — the tour operators’ own listings, re-checked as our scrapers re-run
- place names, coordinates and the country → region → resort hierarchy — GeoNames
- month-by-month temperature and rainfall — published weather-station records and the ERA5 climate archive, averaged over a period we name on the page along with the station and its distance
- sea temperature by month — Copernicus ERA5 monthly means, refreshed yearly
- what is within walking distance — OpenStreetMap, refreshed roughly twice a year
- bathing-water quality — the European Environment Agency’s official classification for the nearest monitoring point, published once a season
- airport distances — computed as the crow flies from the hotel’s own coordinates and labelled as such; a transfer time appears only where a road route has genuinely been measured
- guest ratings — aggregated from public guest-review sources
Every section built from a licensed source carries its credit underneath it. Where we hold nothing, the section is simply absent: we would rather a page were shorter than fill a gap with a plausible-looking guess.
How we make money
Some of the links out to tour operators are affiliate links. If you book after following one, the operator pays us a commission. It costs you nothing — the price is the operator’s own price, and it is identical whether you arrive through us or type their address in yourself.
Commission buys no position. No operator, hotel or chain can pay to be included, to rank higher or to be favoured by a filter. How we compare sets out exactly what the default ordering is computed from.
What Traveloh is not
The clearest way to describe a comparison site is often to say what it is not:
- not a travel agent or a tour operator — we sell nothing, take no bookings and handle no payments
- not an ATOL holder, and not a provider of financial protection; your contract, your money and your protection are all with the operator you book with
- not a review site — we publish no written reviews and never solicit, buy, edit or reorder them
- not in the data business — we do not sell, rent or share what we collect

Getting in touch
Corrections are genuinely welcome. Our information comes from tour operators and public data sources, and both go out of date — a pool closes, a kids’ club changes its hours, a photograph turns out to be of the hotel next door. If you can tell us the address of the page, what is wrong and where the correct information can be seen, we will check it against the operators’ own data and fix it.
