Terms and conditions

These terms explain what Traveloh is, what you can reasonably expect from it, and where our responsibility ends. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please stop using it.

1. Who we are and what this site does

Traveloh is a package-holiday comparison site published at traveloh.uk for visitors in the United Kingdom. We gather publicly available information about hotels — descriptions, photographs, facilities, guest-review scores, climate records and airport distances — and show you which tour operators feature each hotel, so you can compare the hotel itself rather than a shifting set of offers.

Sister sites publish the same catalogue in other languages on their own national domains. Each one is operated by us on the same terms, adapted to local law.

2. We are not the seller of your holiday

We do not sell holidays, flights, accommodation or insurance. We take no bookings and handle no payments. When you follow a link from Traveloh to a tour operator or travel agent, you leave our site, and anything you buy there is a contract between you and that company alone.

Their terms, their cancellation and amendment rules, their pricing and their financial protection apply to that purchase. Ours do not. Please read them before you book.

3. Financial protection for your holiday

Because we sell nothing, we hold no ATOL and provide no financial protection ourselves. The protection you get comes from the company you book with, and in the UK it works like this:

  • A flight-inclusive package must be sold under an ATOL held by the operator, licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority. You should receive an ATOL Certificate as soon as you pay — check it names your booking. See caa.co.uk/atol-protection.
  • Packages without a flight are usually protected by a bond or trust arrangement, very often through ABTA membership. See abta.com.
  • Either way, a holiday sold as a package gives you the rights in the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 — including a single point of responsibility for the whole holiday, and a refund if the organiser fails.

Where an operator states its ATOL number or ABTA membership on our pages, we reproduce what the operator publishes. Always confirm it on the operator’s own site before paying.

4. No prices, and no paid placement

Traveloh deliberately shows no prices. Holiday prices change by the hour and depend on dates, board, room type and party composition; a price shown here would be wrong more often than it was right, and a wrong price is worse than none. We show you which operators feature a hotel and send you to them for the current price.

Ranking is never for sale. The default "recommended" order is calculated from how complete and how recently refreshed a hotel’s information is — nothing else. No operator, hotel or chain can pay to appear higher, and none has ever been asked to.

Some links to operators may be affiliate links, which means we may be paid a commission if you go on to book. That commission is paid by the operator, never added to your price, and it has no effect on whether a hotel is listed or where it appears.

5. Accuracy of the information

Hotel descriptions, facility lists and photographs come from tour operators and public data sources; place names and coordinates come from the GeoNames geographical database; climate figures are long-run averages from published weather-station records, not a forecast.

We take reasonable care to keep all of it current and to correct what is reported to us, but we cannot warrant that every detail is accurate or complete. Hotels renovate, close facilities, change management and rename themselves. Before you book, check the details that matter to you with the operator — particularly a facility your holiday depends on, such as a kids’ club, an accessible room or a heated pool.

Climate averages describe the past and say nothing about the weather you will get.

6. Guest ratings and reviews

Guest rating scores and review counts are aggregated from third-party review sources. They are other travellers’ opinions summarised as a number — not our assessment of a hotel, and not a promise about your stay. We do not write, buy, edit or reorder reviews, and a score can move as new reviews arrive.

7. Acceptable use

You may use Traveloh to research holidays, and you are welcome to link to any page. You may not:

  • scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site beyond what our robots.txt allows, or use automated tools that place an unreasonable load on it
  • copy substantial parts of the catalogue, or reuse our content commercially, without our written permission
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its database or any connected system, or interfere with its operation
  • misrepresent Traveloh, or use our name or branding in a way that suggests an endorsement or partnership that does not exist

8. Content and intellectual property

The design, the editorial text we write, our compilation of the catalogue and the Traveloh name are ours. Hotel photographs and operator logos belong to the hotels, operators and photographers who own them and are shown to identify the property. If you own an image and believe it is used here in error, tell us through the contact page and we will remove it promptly.

10. Availability and changes to the site

We aim to keep the site available and quick, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may add, change, withdraw or reorganise pages at any time, including hotels that operators stop featuring. Where a page moves, we redirect the old address wherever we reasonably can.

11. Our responsibility to you

We provide Traveloh free of charge and as an information service. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for any loss arising from a decision you take on the basis of information on this site, from an inaccuracy in third-party data, from the site being unavailable, or from anything done by a tour operator, travel agent or hotel.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

If you are a consumer, your statutory rights — including those under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — are unaffected by these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site or the law changes. The version on this page is the one that applies, and the date it was last revised is shown at the foot of the page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

13. Governing law and complaints

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you keep the right to bring proceedings in your own courts.

Please raise any complaint about the site with us first, through the contact page — most things are quickly put right. For free, independent advice on your consumer rights in the UK, contact the Citizens Advice consumer service at citizensadvice.org.uk.

A complaint about a holiday itself must go to the operator you booked with. If they are an ABTA member and cannot resolve it, ABTA operates an independent dispute-resolution scheme for its members.
